Who We Are
Worthy Wellness (Ustawi Unaostahili) is a community-based organization founded in 2021 and formally registered in October 2022 to operate at national level in Tanzania.
The organization works alongside women and marginalized communities to advance dignity, safety, rights, and holistic well-being.
Worthy Wellness was established in response to persistent gaps in mental health support, safety, legal awareness, economic opportunity, and representation for communities facing stigma and systemic exclusion.
We center lived experience, collective care, and creativity as foundations for healing, empowerment, and social change.
"You are worthy; you deserve dignity, growth and well-being."
— The meaning of Ustawi Unaostahili
The name affirms our belief that women and marginalized communities are inherently deserving of care, safety, autonomy, and opportunity — without conditions or judgment.

What Guides Us
Six values that are not just principles — they are commitments to every person and community we serve.
Dignity & Worth
We affirm that every person is inherently worthy of respect, care, and opportunity. Our work challenges stigma and discrimination at every level.
Community Leadership
Worthy Wellness is led by and accountable to the communities it serves. Lived experience is expertise, and meaningful participation shapes everything we do.
Intersectionality & Inclusion
We acknowledge that people experience overlapping forms of marginalization. Our spaces, programs, and advocacy are designed to be inclusive and accessible.
Safety & Care
Physical, emotional, and digital safety are paramount. Confidentiality, consent, and collective care guide how we work, especially in sensitive contexts.
Empowerment & Agency
Empowerment is built through knowledge, skills, confidence, and collective power — supporting communities to shape their own futures.
Creativity & Justice
Art, storytelling, and collective action are tools for resistance, healing, and advancing human rights. We use innovation to build a more just world.
How We Work
Rights-Based
Every program and engagement is grounded in human rights frameworks, affirming the inherent rights of all communities we serve.
Trauma-Informed
We recognize the impacts of trauma and structure all our work to prioritize emotional safety, choice, and healing.
Intersectional
We understand that identities overlap and that our responses must account for the full complexity of people's lives.
Participatory
Programs are co-created with communities — not designed for them. Safety, confidentiality, and lived realities shape everything.
Our Communities
We walk alongside women and marginalized groups — centering their safety, agency, and dignity in all that we do.
